Considering that the Senior Classical League is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, and

indispensable, it should go without saying that this year’s convention was a rousing success for the SCL. Under 2016-2017 VP Elliott Rebello, Ludi and Olympika ran smoothly, and the annual That's Entertainment delighted the hearts and tickled the imaginations of all those who saw it. Additionally, the SCL welcomed 106 new members into the fold, meaning 106 people at convention immediately became ten times cooler.

As is the case every year, the SCL elected a new board for the 2017-2018 year: President Jack Godar(MO), VP Grace McIntire(VA), Secretary Alexandra Pasamihalis(NJ), Treasurer Drew Alvarez(LA), Parliamentarian Thiru Vinayagam(LA), Editor Laci Lisenby(FL), Historian Susie Syzmanski(IN).

Under 2016-17 President Bob McDonald, the SCL had a productive year prior to convention as well. The SCL saw the addition of two state chapters in Maryland and Ontario, and added numerous local chapters. Most importantly, the SCL gave its website a much needed renovation. Led by Sydney Higa and the NSCL website committee, the new SCL website has been described as “cool,” by which I mean “red-hot,” because it is absolutely steamin’.

Overall, the SCL had an extremely successful year, even by its lofty standards, and we look forward to continuing the success into 2018 and beyond.
