Torch: U.S. LXIX Winter 2019 | Page 14

Under the bright sun of a brisk autumn day, the NJCL officers, committee, and NSCL president and vice president traversed the campus of the University of Richmond on October 18th-20th. As the leaves turned color, the officers couldn’t help but imagine the beauty of the campus in summer. In a morning of scheduling questions and campus tours, the officers celebrated the General Assembly location within a comfortable walking distance of each of the spacious dorms. Everyone welcomed an appetizing lunch from the dining hall before returning to meetings. In the true spirit of a classics organization, the officers ate dinners at Greek and Italian restaurants.

The following day, meetings filled schedules. Fueled by coffees, teas, and juices, the officers determined spirit and dance themes, reviewed the Packet Award, and discussed the National Classics Week Packet and how to best promote National Classics Week. After lunch with the VJCL Board, officers rejoined National Committee for more meetings. Among all the planning and in every meeting, the NJCL Executive Board is working for the 2020 NJCL Convention at the University of Richmond and cannot wait for you to attend!

FALL PLANNING MEETING

Contrary to photographic evidence,

the NJCL officers did not travel to

Italy but rather to an Italian restaurant.

The NJCL officers ate lunch with the VJCL board.
