NJCL EDITOR
Thank you,
Between hugs, tears, and parting goodbyes, JCLers left NJCL Convention having changed from when they arrived. Some learned gracefully at Ludi events, others learned the right (and wrong) times to hyperbuzz. Some learned how to perform in front of a thousand people, others learned Hellenic History just before the testing session. In order for all of these events to run smoothly and memories to be created, many thanks go out to many people and organizations:
To the campus of North Dakota State University. JClers will forever remember the soft serve eaten in the dining halls, the midnight conversations held in dorm rooms, the Ludi games played on sports fields, the tests taken in the Fargodome. Thank you for providing the amenities that made this convention not only memorable but possible.
To the North Dakota JCL. Your small yet mighty delegation welcomed students, sponsors, and chaperones from across the
nation. Thank you for your hard work preparing for convention, your sound directional guidance, and your kindhearted
hospitality, even if your accents were teased throughout the week.
To the 2018-2019 National Board and Committee. Thank you for the countless hours you spent preparing for this convention. From August through July, your tireless commitment to spreading #JCLove results in a week of friendships and memories treasured for years to come.
To the sponsors and chaperones. Thank you for your support as teachers and parents. Because you encourage the study of classical civilization, students are able to attend conventions such as this.
To the JCLers. Your passion to cheer in spirit contests, your drive to study Certamen, your commitment to the classics and the friendships resultingly created is what brings us back every year. Thank you for creating a community like no other.
