Vice-Principal’s Report
National Computational Linguistics
Two Scotch teams competed in this competition and both came third in their respective divisions.
The Senior Team comprised Isaac Zhao (12 Littlejohn), Josh Meng (12 Forbes), Matthew Lee (12
Littlejohn) and Rishi Bhargava (12 Eggleston). The Junior team included Max Fan (10 Forbes),
Richard Liu (10 Selby Smith), Jason Chi (10 Forbes) and Roy Chalmers (10 Davidson).
ANZAC Day Parade
Cadets, members of the Pipe Band and Military Band, and associated staff participated in the
annual ANZAC Day March. Members of the Military Band and the Pipes and Drums provided music
and cadets carried banners for various ex-service associations, mainly those from the 9th Division.
Thanks go to all boys involved and the staff who accompanied them on the day.
Choir Camp
130 boys and 10 staff were involved in the annual 3 day Choir camp that was held at Rutherford
Park, Daylesford. The camp provided a wonderful opportunity to prepare for the Autumn Concert
series.
Year 10 Respectful Relationships Programme
As part of the School’s Acceptance and Respectful Relationships Programme, Year 10 boys and
Year 10 girls from MLC spent a day discussing issues that arise in social and sexual relationships,
promote acceptance of all types of relationship preferences and maintain and develop strategies to
create positive relationships. The day was extremely successful in meeting its aims, and the boys
and girls found the day stimulating and beneficial.
Autumn Concert Series
Over 2 nights, boys in the various orchestras, bands and choirs displayed their musical talents to
appreciative audiences during the Autumn Concert series. The quality of the music produced was a
credit to the hard work and commitment of the boys and staff who took the stage. Congratulations
go to all involved.
Generations in Jazz
Boys in the Stage Band and Show Band were amongst over 5000 musicians throughout Australia
who travelled to Mt Gambier to compete in the annual Generations in Jazz Competition. The boys
thoroughly enjoyed the experience and gained enormous benefit from their involvement.
