This is a mandatory training program for all Coxswains who are required to participate for the upcoming patrol season. Copies of the slides and information is available on the D5NR website. Go to “Member Area” click on “Member Training.” Coincidental to the workshop, DSO-OP, OTO Clark, and other operations personnel have been busy reviewing and revising operational procedures in the D5NR to improve efficiency and safety in operational activities. Thanks to all for their efforts in this endeavor. Everbridge Everbridge drills have continued throughout the district during the transition with the change in EXCOM Administrations. The most recent drill showed a sharp decline in response rate. The district had been achieving responses in the high 80 – 90 percent rate. This past month’s drill showed a response rate of approximately 75%. In speaking with some of the members, it was noted that the message stopped prior to the response section preventing members from replying to the message. This information was reported to the IM department who conducts the drills. Hopefully, the issue was an anomaly and will be corrected so we can return to our normal response rate. A reminder that messages are sent using a variety of methods including text message, telephone calls, and e-mail. If one process fails, please respond using one of the other methods so member response can be logged. These drills are critical to the district to gauge readiness in the event of an emergency where our members need to be contacted in short order. Member response is needed and requested.
