Greetings Shipmates !

The Western Area has been engaged in many missions in the first half of the year ! Throughout the summer season we have been on the local waterways conducting many patrols along with successfully executing many SAR cases . The divisions of the western area also held Division Training Days that were vital in training new boat crew members as well as assisting all surface operations members in completing the new Annual Currency Maintenance Task Tracker . In public affairs , many missions were conducted including WWII Weekend in Reading , PA , Kids Safety Day at Mauch Chunk Lake and Lake Hopatcong Block Party as well as participating in National Night Out events throughout our AOR .
I look forward to seeing many of you at our Fall D-Train in its new location in Lancaster , PA . There are many excellent training opportunities being offered as well as the chance to meet fellow shipmates from across the district including active duty .
As RBS continues to be a big part of our mission in the Auxiliary , the biggest need currently is assisting the active duty with many important missions . There are so many opportunities available for members to work side by side with active duty at stations in our AOR . Please continue to review the D5NR website on a regular basis to see available opportunities .
