TOP(POINT) DESIGNER To be able to offer standard as well as original products in our collection, we are cooperating closely with two professional product designers. We are cooperating for already 20 years with Mister Volkmar Rommel, qualified designer from Schweabisch Gmuend in Germany. He is a designer of different well-known high quality articles. For example he designed the first radio for Mitsubishi. Volkmar is cooperating closely with our location in the South of Germany, GS plastics. At this location are produced among others the Toppoint designed pens. [ VOLKMAR ROMMEL ] The man behind the Toppoint pen [ TJEERD DIJKSTRA ] Beside Volkmar since a year we have also cooperated with Tjeerd Dijksta from Oestgeest,The Netherlands. He is an expert in inventing and elaborating products for retail as well as the promotional market. Beside inventing he is also advising in the development of the collection. Both designers indicate that they find it very pleasant to cooperate with Toppoint, thanks so the expertise of the employees and the hands-on mentality. ■ After this process the pens can be brought into production at GS plastics. Thanks to this product development the Toppoint ballpoint pens stay up to date. Because of the production in Germany the pens can be produced in different colors as from a relatively small quantity. BACKGROUND ROMEL UND SCHOEN DESIGN Since 25 years Toppoint is cooperating closely with Volkmar Rommel from Rommel und Schoen Design. The thing that’s unique about the service of Rommel und Schoen has from the beginning been the innovative product development. Starting with a concept to building your own prototypes until series production. Toppoint feels really grateful to be able to benefit from the inexhaustible experience from the industrial designer, who has won more than 100 awards and has designed worldwide bestsellers. Our new Toppoint made in Germany models have been designed and sketched. After that the prototypes have been made and the molds have been finished for mass production. 87856 Ballpen Sienna 56 1970 - Founding year of Rommel und Schoen. At that time they were situated in Waldstetten. Clients at that moment were among others Mitsubishi (consuming electronics), Citrawerft (motor boats) and Waiko (office furniture). The first chairs were designed for Cor, Casala and Eka. De close and long cooperation with Mitsubishi, in the field of design and development were highly appreciated in Tokyo. Moreover Rommel und Schoen were the first German designers who cooperated with the Japanese multinational, which by several design-awards provided the necessary appreciation. 1971 - This was the year of the emerge of the first vacuum cleaner from Vorwerk, which thereafter has been in production for over 20 years. 1976 - This is the year when Rommel und Schoen started in the field of writing instruments. Pelikan was at that time the client. At the same time were built-in sinks and hot plates designed for Teka, which are still in production. These and many other products are considered as classics with a design which are known for a long life. 1982 - Several series for the IKEA chairs were developed. 1985 - One of the first cordless phones were developed for Stabi-Uniden. 1998 - In this year the first 3 series of the piano from Bechstein Pianoforte AG emerged. 2006 - The year where the design winning bathroom furniture series for Burgbad AG was designed and launched 2007-2010 - A lot of new piano models designed and introduced for Bechstein Pianoforte AG In the last 5 years Toppoint has developed at least 20 new designs and series in the writing instruments and ceramic assortment with a great success. ■
