An eight-year veteran of the list and boasting a net
worth of USD370 million, Tan Sri is listed alongside
fellow tycoons such as Robert Kuok, Ananda Krishna,
Quek Leng Chan, Teh Hong Piow and Vincent Tan.
Dubbed the definitive list of the wealthiest individuals
in Malaysia, Forbes’ Malaysia’s 50 Richest, is
compiled
using
shareholding
and
financial
information obtained from the families and
individuals, stock exchanges, analysts, private data
bases and the Companies Commission of Malaysia.

Malaysians:
Tan Sri moves up another 5 notches to #25 amongst
the 40 Richest Malaysians which include business
moguls like Tony Fernandes and Yeoh Tiong Lay. This
long-standing annual ranking, the 13th in its series,
tabulates wealth figures based on the individuals’
reported personal stakes in listed companies and
private holdings to which a value can be ascribed.

The foyer outside the ballroom was abuzz with
excitement. Amidst the sea of people who had turned up
for the gala event, at which the Prime Minister and his
wife were the Guests of Honour, one could easily spot
the Who’s Whos of Malaysia: Famous athletes, local
celebrities, outstanding achievers, famous business
personalities, all of whom were to be honored and
celebrated for their various unique and outstanding
achievements. Amongst these of course was our very
own Tan Sri Lim, who was on hand to receive an award
for Top Glove, accorded the Outstanding Business
Award for being the world’s largest rubber glove
manufacturer.
