English writing class “Write It Right, Say it
Correctly” kicks off
Staff’s Chidren’s
Academic Excellence
Award
The Staff’s Children’s Academic Excellence Award was
introduced in 2013, as an internal CSR programme under
the TG Foundation, underscoring Top Glove’s
commitment to employee welfare, as well as the
importance of education.
While the immediate aim was to reward young students
for sincere efforts and diligence in their academic
pursuits, an even broader goal was surely to inspire its
recipients to continue improving and striving for
excellence, even beyond academia.
Lack the confidence to use English in everyday
situations? Keen to improve your English grammar,
vocabulary and communication skills?
Help is at hand. In fact, it’s literally at your doorstep.
English writing classes “Write It Right, Say it Correctly”
are now being held at F10 on Tuesdays and Thursdays,
from 6.15pm to 7.15pm. Conducted by proficient trainer,
Chern from Learning & Development, the 3-month
course is filled with exciting activities and assignments,
all aimed at helping you communicate with confidence
and clarity (while ensuring you never feel bored or tired,
even after a hard day’s work).
The ceremony for the 2nd Staff’s Children’s Academic
Excellence Award this year saw 24 students receiving
their awards for achievements in their UPSR, PMS, SPM
and STPM examinations. Each child walked away with a
Certificate of Excellence and MPH book vouchers ranging
from RM 50 to RM 400, depending on the level of
examination and the number of A’s scored. The half-day
event also included brief remarks by Tan Sri and Mr CG
Lim, both of whom imparted wise counsel to the young
scholars, a factory tour and culminated in a makan
session.
But don’t take our word for it. Read what the pioneer
batch of students had to say:
“Interesting class! I will continue to attend the next class.
See ya”.
“Awesome class!” “Fun!”

We daresay this event helped drive home the importance
of doing one’s best and that hard work would eventually
pay off handsomely for many-a-staff’s children.
Rachel was transferred from HR to L&D early in her career at Top Glove and loves every minute of her
time there. It allows her to focus on the one thing she simply can’t get enough of – learning. And the
people she meets in the course of work, with their varied life experiences and inspiring stories, are the
best way for her to do so.
