Sabine Singh rocked Greenlee and I enjoyed her pairing with Aidan (which is saying something considering Aidan was a worthless character from day one...but he looked pretty.) Why would that be a problem, says ABC Daytime. We'll fire Sabine, and while she's continuing to air as Greenlee we'll air promo's touting the return of THE REAL GREENLEE.
That wasn't the only time that ABC Daytime has pulled this trick. Just a couple of years later. Jonathan Jackson, who played Lucky Spencer on GH wanted to return to his role that he played for his entire childhood. Greg Vaughn was let go due to lack of storyline. Which was true, he hadn't had storyline in months (although I think we can blame the writing regime for not finding a use for Lucky Spencer...Luke and Laura's son...cough, cough...Guza). Then not even two months after he was let go they announced that Jonathan Jackson would be returning...as Lucky Spencer. Greg Vaughn had played Lucky Spencer for almost 5 years at that point and his version was my favorite over Jonathan Jackson and Jacob Young. Again fired for the original to return.
As if those stories aren't enough you have instances were Sarah Joy Brown wants to return but Laura Wright can't be fired so they create a new character for them. Not to mention the week long stating of the recasted characters full name every time they enter the room just so that viewers are brainwashed into believing that they are the character. Seriously, who says "Hi Ridge Forrester" every time they see someone. You dont. The best part is the badly photoshopped wedding photos, etc that the past actors had taken when they played the part that are then changed to reflect the new actor. The photoshop job is always horrible. Always.
