CANNES YACHT FESTIVAL

The traditional autumn boat shows in Cannes and Monaco this year were perhaps the most joyous and festive in their entire history . Finally , we were together again after a year of challenges and closed borders .
Although not everyone could come for practical reasons , all of the exhibitors we talked to left the Cote d ’ Azur with the conviction that the yachting world benefits greatly from the opportunity these shows provide for industry representatives and clients . Because nothing can beat seatrials at dawn and dusk , tours of new yachts led by their builders , and opulant on-board parties !
There were many premieres this year at the Cannes Yachting Festival , all interesting in their own way . Shipyards that did not have a chance to showcase their new yachts to the public , due to the cancellation of exhibitions in Cannes and Monaco , were finally able to knock it out the park .
The British shipyard Princess Yachts has long ago chosen the Cannes Yachting Festival , which is the first boat show in a series of autumn yacht shows , as its main international premiere venue , leaving its home exhibition in Southampton to showcase its new products to the British public . This year , the all-new Y72 was the star of the Princess brand . The yacht is a reimagining of its classic line of flybridge yachts .
The naval architect and designer Bernard Olesinski , whose design team has been creating hulls for Princess for more than a decade , and the Italian studio Pininfarina , which needs no introduction , have managed to increase the usable space on board and make their yachts even more elegant , both inside and out . For example , it was possible to create two lounge areas on the Princess Y72 flybridge .
In addition to the latest arrival from its classic line , Princess Yachts showcased its innovative X95 model in Cannes ( it was a European premiere ). This is a real superyacht with a spacious flybridge ( it ’ s referred to as “ super flybridge ”) and an extremely spacious interior and cabins . The scrupulous British even found that the Princess X95 , on average , has 40 % larger interior space and 10 % more open deck space than most of its competitors , although we have not decided yet which one to choose .
The largest Italian yacht conglomerate Ferretti Group in Cannes has witnessed an incredible number of premieres . Ferretti Yachts showcased its new flagship Ferretti 1000 . The Wally shipyard wowed visitors with the WHY200 , its first power superyacht . The legendary Riva continued to amaze its longtime admirers and those who think that Riva yachts are all about old money and just for glamorous picnics on the water ( although these activities are encouraged as well ). On the berth , near Riva , two other premieres took place as well : the 68 ‘ Diable and the 76 ’ Perseo . And finally , the Pershing shipyard held a premiere of the Pershing 6X , its new comfortable , high-speed yacht .
