The new Challenger will go head-to-head against some of the world s most popular jets of leading manufacturers , such as the Embraer Praetor 500 and 600 , the Cessna Citation Longitude and the Gulfstream G280 . Naturally , to come out the victor , the Canadian aircraft manufacturer has introduced not just an improved version of its bestseller , but something completely new .
The first thing that catches your eye about the full-size Challenger 3500 are the design solutions implemented on the luxurious ultra-long-range Global 7500 . The Nuage seats are a masterpiece of innovation and craftsmanship , and the first revolution in the world of aircraft seats in 30 years , giving passengers a zero gravity feeling , like the best massage seats offer . Bombardier designer Alexandre Curthelet explains how this was achieved : We carved out space at the chair base , so you can tuck your feet under the center of gravity while working ”. It s exactly the position in which most people prefer to sit when they re working at a computer .
No other business jet has a cabin quite as advanced as the Bombardier Challenger 3500 . It includes voice control of key vital cabin systems ( such as lighting , air conditioning , entertainment and more ) and a largest-in-class 24-inch 4K video display .
In addition to the technically advanced cabin , the Challenger 3500 offers the quietest and widest cabin in its class . In terms of comfort , the manufacturer promises an equivalent air pressure even at 12,500 meters of 1,500 meters – in other words , passengers flying the Bombardier Challenger 3500 will enjoy a more relaxed and comfortable flight like on a usual walk , without a feeling of fatigue or unwellness . The plane also boasts other important conveniences , such as a galley and direct access to the baggage compartment during the flight .
Covid-influenced design elements as a tribute to a new reality are in place as well . All cabin buttons on the dashboard have been replaced with one-touch control , which aims to minimize contacts and is easier to clean after the flight . The design team also extended space between chairs and used larger knobs on the doors and drawers , which facilitate easier cleaning and disinfection . Of course , the basic version also accommodates the latest air-conditioning system .
When developing the Challenger 3500 , Bombardier engineers used an improved winglet design that will provide a smoother flight and lower operating costs . Like its predecessor , the Challenger 3500 can fly in and out of challenging airports such as London City , Aspen and Lugano .
When giving comments on the development history of the new Challenger 3500 , Bombardier says the model was designed as a comfortable home and office in the air .
The Bombardier Challenger 3500 will enter service in the second half of 2022 , with the same price tag as the Challenger 350 .
