JP Rangaswami
Chief Data Officer at Deutsche Bank
JP Rangaswami is a renowned speaker, economist, financial journalist, technology innovator,
and blogger, currently holding the post of Chief Data Officer at Deutsche Bank where he plays
a key role in supporting its digital strategy. Originally an economist and financial journalist, JP
Rangaswami has spent most of his career working in FinTech. He joined Deutsche Bank from
Salesforce.com, the world’s largest provider of customer relationship-management software,
where he was Chief Scientist since 2010. He also writes the confusedofcalcutta.com blog about
information.
JP Rangaswami was born in Calcutta and lived there before emigrating to the United Kingdom
in 1980. He studied at St. Xavier’s College, University of Calcutta, where he earned an Honours
Degree in Economics and Statistics. He began his career at BT Group in a variety of technology
roles including Chief Scientist, and prior to that was Global Chief Information Officer at
Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. He made the Wired 100 in 2010 ranked 18th in the list. More
recently, he was ranked 4th in Computer Weekly’s 2013 list of the most influential people in IT.

Deepak Rao is currently a Venture Partner at Concentric - an investment partnership platform
for technology companies. He was previously an Investment Banker at UBS Investment Bank’s
Technology team with a focus on Internet and Digital Media. Transactions include the Premium
listing of Perform Group on the London Stock Exchange and the formation of Axel Springer
Digital Classifieds GmbH - a JV with General Atlantic. A mechanical engineering graduate of
Visvesvaraya Technological University, India, he also holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering
from Imperial College, London.

Sohail Rashid

Sohail Rashid is Founder & CEO of Property Network, the UK’s leading the marketing platform
that has won a host of trade awards, captured over 5 million property transactions and 4
million unique consumer social profiles. Recognised as the Entrepreneur of the Year at the
Coutts Business Insider ‘42 under 42’ Awards in 2013, Sohail has spent the last eighteen months
securing £2m in funding from Finance Yorkshire and Ingenious Ventures and expanded his
team with 54 new recruits to taken on rival competitors Rightmove and Zoopla. A former
lawyer, he was headhunted to set up the property department of J B Law, a niche Leeds city
centre corporate insolvency firm. From there he joined iConveyancer Limited, brought in
to project manage a joint venture with Steria, a £3 Billion Global IT and Data Management
Company. He participated in a management buyout of Steria before setting up social media
search tool Property Place in 2011.
