Top 100 Asian Stars in UK Tech 2015 JP Rangaswami Chief Data Officer at Deutsche Bank JP Rangaswami is a renowned speaker, economist, financial journalist, technology innovator, and blogger, currently holding the post of Chief Data Officer at Deutsche Bank where he plays a key role in supporting its digital strategy. Originally an economist and financial journalist, JP Rangaswami has spent most of his career working in FinTech. He joined Deutsche Bank from Salesforce.com, the world’s largest provider of customer relationship-management software, where he was Chief Scientist since 2010. He also writes the confusedofcalcutta.com blog about information. JP Rangaswami was born in Calcutta and lived there before emigrating to the United Kingdom in 1980. He studied at St. Xavier’s College, University of Calcutta, where he earned an Honours Degree in Economics and Statistics. He began his career at BT Group in a variety of technology roles including Chief Scientist, and prior to that was Global Chief Information Officer at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. He made the Wired 100 in 2010 ranked 18th in the list. More recently, he was ranked 4th in Computer Weekly’s 2013 list of the most influential people in IT.
