Top 100 Asian Stars in UK Tech 2015 Nish Kukadia CEO - SecretSales.com Nish Kukadia is CEO of SecretSales.com, the UK’s leading members-only private shopping club, hosting online sales for over 1,500 designer fashion, accessories, footwear and lifestyle brands. The company founded in 2006 has over 4 million engaged members and employs over 100 people in Notting Hill with a further 40+ people managing fulfilment in Coventry. Prior to SecretSales.com, Nish was an Advertising Planner at MEC Global, WPP Group, where he managed brand and direct response campaigns for a range of clients including Sony Ericsson, Visa, Direct Line Insurance, Xerox and Singapore Airlines. Nish received his undergraduate degree in Management & Marketing from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. He is a mentor for Seedcamp and also advises Liberty Lodge, a therapeutic home in Ipswich for children with severe emotional and behavioural difficulties. Madhuban Kumar CEO - Metafused Madhuban Kumar is CEO at Metafused, a cloud based real-time decision engine delivering alerts and triggers from the continuous aggregation, analytics and optimization of any data. Madhuban has worked in startup environments with one of the first India-US Venture Funds (Insight Venture Partners); built products from idea to launch and has previous experience in brands (GSK), mobile and NFC ( Encorus acquired by First Data Inc) and IP data (Camelot, BT). She has also advised the Doughty Hanson Technology Fund and Siemens Venture Capital Fund. In 2010, she became CEO of !80KB, a cloud based big data product platform aggregating data from disparate data sources for music and entertainment media brands. She worked with music producers and artists and helped them understand and leverage data driven insights for artist development, touring and others. Madhuban has an MBA from the Cardiff Business School University of Wales and an Executive MBA from London Business School. Priya Lakhani OBE Founder & CEO - Century Tech Priya Lakhani OBE is Founder & CEO of Century Tech, which utilises data mining techniques to provide a personalised learning experience to students. Century Tech has 5 schools committed to launch the pilot programme but is still in the fundraising stage. A libel lawyer, she set up Masala Masala a fresh food company in 2008. It became the forerunner for Priya’s subsequent charitable enterprise iamSOCO (i am socially conscious) which she set up alongside her business to provide a hot meal to a homeless person in India for every pot of her sauces sold. The charity provided over 1,000,000 hot meals to the homeless in India and over 35,000 Pentavalent fivein-one vaccines to the underprivileged in Africa, via charitable partners, before closing in December 2012. Priya was a member of the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills’ Entrepreneurs’ Forum, and an Advisory Board Member to the Education Foundation, the UK’s leading education think-tank. She was awarded Business Entrepreneur of the Year in 2009, and was named on the Growing Business Young Guns list 2009 and listed in Management Today’s ’35 Women Under 35’ in the same year.
