TONIC | future events Coast of origin The State of Queensland will again be divided in 2014 with the impending World Surfaris Coast of Origin Interclub Series set for July. Boardriding clubs from the Gold and Sunshine Coasts will thrust themselves into their respective bunkers and put their best surfers on show for the chance to represent their “coast” during the Gold and Sunshine Coast’s regional challenges, scheduled for July 12th and 13th. The two iconic surf coasts will then join Stand Up Paddle and Longboard clubs as they faceoff directly in a Gold Coast V.S Sunshine Coast State Challenge, 26th-27th July. 28 – autumn IssuE Dean Brady. Snapper Rocks Surfriders, Burleigh Longboard Club and SUPSA took out last year’s State Championship honors as they helped the Gold Coast to their first series win and, in turn, stopped a rampaging Sunshine Coast from their third straight series win. This year’s series is expected to boil over into an all-out war of waves as battle lines are drawn and bragging rights put on the line. The best surfers from both coasts will again line up to represent their clubs this July for a chance to represent their club and coast in the World Surfaris Coast of Origin Interclub Series.
