KRURUNGAL
JALLUM JARJUMS
THE KRURUNGAL “JALLUM JARJUMS”
OR FISH KIDS SURFING PROGRAM HAS
WRAPPED UP FOR 2013 WITH A FINAL
LEARN-TO-SURF AND SUP PROGRAM
AT TALLEBUDGERA ON QUEENSLAND’S
GOLD COAST.
50-plus indigenous participants hit the
water on the Gold Coast, some for the very
first time, and each participant left the
final instalment with a taste for the ocean.
The lights and cameras of Channel 7’s The
Great South East program were also on
hand to capture the action for an episode
due to air early in 2014.

The Jallum Jarjums program has been
run over four days throughout the year,
whilst training and education programs
have also accredited several indigenous
youths to judge and coach within the
surfing industry. Surfing Queensland
would like to thank all sponsors, stakeholders and, of course, all of the Fish Kids
who have participated in the program in
2013. See you all next year!
BEN FALVEY AND BRAD LEE HAVE
BEEN BUSY DELIVERING HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAMS ACROSS THE
STATE TO QUEENSLAND’S ELITE JUNIOR SURFING TALENT.
The 2013 High Performance Program
culminated in a two day camp at the Hurley Surfing Australia High Performance
Centre where Queensland’s athletes finalised preparation for the Soundwave Australian Junior Surfing Titles in Kiama,
NSW.
Congratulations to the 2013 Queensland
State Junior Team for taking out overall honours at this year’s Australian Junior
