Peter Rutter at VFE Pedals is no stranger
to big (and sometimes crazy) ideas. I mean
the man built two “megapedals” each
containing 18 individual VFE effects—
by all accounts, huge, time-consuming,
expensive, and unbelievably cool. So, it’s
no surprise that Peter created an online
custom shop called the Pedal Wizard. In
simplest form, the Pedal Wizard allows
VFE customers to customize any VFE
effect by choosing paint color, knobs,
LED color, graphics, and more. If you’re
feeling adventurous, you can even
create and upload your own artwork.
Also available within the Wizard is the
ability for customers to order licensed
pedals based on circuits from BYOC and
RunOffGroove. Peter offered this option
for guitarists that might want to own
these circuits but don’t have the time
and or skills to solder their own gear.
Peter is even exploring the option of
allowing other creative types to upload
a circuit (must be an original design) and
receive royalties any time it is ordered.
