Whoctahell
The Beetronics Whoctahell is a
devilishly handsome beast of a pedal
that is well-endowed with a hefty
squarewave lower octave that swings
like a pendulum under a zippy fuzzy
overdrive. The overdrive is controlled
by the Hell dial and it sounds ripping
in a vintage sawtooth kind of way. The
Whocta sets the level of the octave
which can be dipped down a further
octave below with the Octave Selector
switch, or even bypassed completely
with the left footswitch. The vibe of this
signal muncher reminds me a bit of the
MXR Blue Box, but without the volume
drop issues. Truly gnarly red-tailed
tones await those willing to spelunk into
the deeper dwellings of the un-norm.
