BOSS ENTERS THE MOD ERA WITH THE MD-500 Boss takes its 500 series to the modulation realm, where it offers you a boatload of modulation offerings with more control than you could ever imagine. You get 12 modulation types with a full clip of control parameters, including two knobs that are mode-specific. You can assign the onboard Tap/CTL footswitch to perform any number of functions, which pairs with stereo outs, USB and full expression controls. SUPRO AMPS PAYS ITS RESPECT TO THE STATESMAN Supro’s Statesman offers up two individually switchable preamp circuits in one amp, giving you two distinct types of preamps with dramatically different properties. The Thunderbolt (red) channel contains a high-headroom preamp for all you pedal freaks out there, and the Comet (blue) channel contains a high-gain preamp with EQ options and reverb. SPRUCE EFFECTS GIVES US WOOD WITH THE GIGANTEUM DRIVE The Giganteum Drive delivers a one-two punch of dirt circuits that are engineered to play nice with one another. The right side contains a germanium-equipped full-range boost with a girth knob to select the range of the boost, which pushes a silicon-based drive circuit. The silicon side offers standard gain and tone control as well as a master volume for both drive and boost. ToneReport.com 19
