Radial Engineering StageBug SB-1 Active Acoustic DI The StageBug SB-1 is a great sounding but bone-simple DI that works well for acoustic-electric guitar, electric guitar, bass, or even keys. You can even use it for re-amping a previously recorded guitar part. In other words, while we might be using it for an acoustic board, it can be repurposed throughout your rig and even throughout your band. The StageBug runs off of 48 volts phantom power and offers a quarter-inch input, an XLR output, and a quarter- inch tuner output. But just because it’s called a “tuner output” it doesn’t mean that’s all it can be used for. You can send your unaffected acoustic signal directly to the board using the XLR output and then run the quarter- inch output through some effects and then either to an amplifier or to another channel on your PA. It’s a perfect means for adding effects to your acoustic signal without losing the heart, soul, and natural timbre of the instrument. ToneReport.com 37
