Step 1:
The Basics
In the world of pedalboards, there’s
nothing less sexy than chaos—you know
what I’m talking about. Cables askew,
Flying Spaghetti Monster style, begging to
become a problem at the worst possible
moment.
And this isn’t just the obsessive-
compulsive part of me talking—it’s the
pragmatic side, too. Because I’ve been
there, hunched over my pedalboard
while the rest of the band is ready to
go, frantically troubleshooting, and
trying to find the needle in a haystack of
monochromatic wires.
It’s not my idea of a good time.
So listen: it’s time to tighten that mess
up. Seriously. 2017 is your year. And it’s
not that hard, so quit making excuses.
Take the short trip to your local home
improvement store, buy some cable wraps,
zip ties and adhesive mounting base and
make your life better.
Make sure everything is in working order,
wrap the cables where you need to, secure
the mounting bases and zip tie everything
down.
All told, it might cost you $10 and your
pedalboard (and bandmates) will thank
you.
