Epiphone G-1275 If you’re like me, a Gibson EDS-1275 costs a lot more than any car you’ve ever bought, putting it pretty far out of reach financially unless you happen to strike oil while burying a pet gerbil. Lucky for working dudes like us, there’s Epiphone. The Epiphone G-1275 is an excellent alternative to the iconic Gibson double-neck, providing a lot of the feel, tone, and awe-inspiring stage presence of that guitar for about 5600 dollars less. A couple of highlights of the Epiphone model are a tail piece that is set back further on the body like Jimmy Page’s custom-ordered Gibson (an arrangement which is said to enhance tone and sustain), and a three-way toggle in the middle of the body for selecting between the 12-string side, six-string side, or both at once. Head on over to your local Guitar Center right now, plug one of these bad fellas into a solid-state Marshall half-stack, and play “Stairway” until they grab you by the belt loops and toss you out into the alleyway.
