FROM THE CEO
Welcome Back to School
I’m typing this after just coming home from our
first ever Back To School BBQ. What an amazing
evening of celebrating education in our community!
We planned to feed about 300 people; however,
after 16 minutes in to the event, we were making
an emergency trip to Festival to feed another
150! Whew! Special thanks are sent out to Oakley
Moser, Sindia Jacobs and the LINK Crew for slaving
over a hot grill and serving brats and hot dogs
to the masses! F & M Bank provided backpacks
and a huge gift basket to numerous youngsters
and Timberwood Bank provided five $200 prizes
to teachers who were nominated for their work
in the classrooms. RIA Federal Credit Union also
sponsored and helped with registration. Sparta/
Tomah Broadcasting also played music, gave out
CDs and provided the use of their sound system.
All in all, the evening was simply amazing
celebration of our educators, new and returning.
We can say with near certainty that we will be
putting this event on again in the years ahead of us.
We are so grateful to our sponsors who make events
like this possible, but we are especially thankful to
all of the educators in our school district that are so
inspirational to the youth of Tomah!
Sheriff's Forum
Last month, the Tomah Chamber and Visitors
Center, along with the Sparta Area Chamber,
Sparta/Tomah Broadcasting, Magnum.Media,
Monroe County Herald, Tomah Journal and Greg
Hagen Sports Network joined together to put on
the Monroe County Sheriff’s Forum before the
primary election. All five candidates were present
and had the opportunity to answer questions both
predetermined by the sponsors and from the
audience. Greg Hagen taped the event, which can
be found on our YouTube page. We will again be
coordinating with the same sponsors to put on a
similar event before the general election to give
voters the opportunity to hear from the remaining
two candidates. Moving on to the general election
are Wes Revels (R) and Jeff Schwanz (D). Please
look for more information to come!
Au Revoir
Or “until we meet again”…Dear
Amanda, oh how missed you will be
at the Tomah Chamber and Visitors
Center. Thank you for your 3 1/2 years
of working with us, helping us grow,
and making us look like a bright shiny
new penny…but most of all, thank you
for your spirit and the joy you brought
to our membership. We wish you the
absolute best of luck on the bright
future ahead of you!
