Local Art Lemonweir Elementary Has a Big Art Project for the Community to Enjoy! The Lemonweir Advanced Pace art students are connecting with the community with unique wolf statues. Businesses can support this project by sponsoring! A small group of talented students were chosen to pilot this exciting program. This group of 6 students comprise Lemonweir Elementary’s first AP (advanced pace) Art class. The students meet with their Art instructor once or twice a week, depending on the project, in addition to their regular weekly Art class with their classmates. At present there are 2 students from the 4th grade and 4 students from the 5th grade. With parental and administrative support, our young artists have begun their community- focused endeavors by creating “Chalk Drawing Photo Backgrounds” for Tomah’s “Main Street Music” during the last days of summer. The next major project will involve several local businesses. Communities around our area have embraced the arts in a unique and creative way; community sculpture. As an example, La Crosse has “cranes” in various places in town, each of them painted or decorated uniquely by different artists. Since Tomah sports teams are the “Timberwolves”, we have secured a source to purchase life-sized sculptures for our young artists to paint and/or find other artistic methods to bring these canine representations of our community to life in new and exciting ways. We would like to invite your business to sponsor one of these unique and striking testaments to the Arts in our community. •  Each wolf is sponsored at $400 by a local business • Sponsorship is prominently noted by a plaque mounted at the base of the statue • Input/ideas on the design’s direction to complement the sponsor’s business is welcome • Upon completion, the permanent installation of the art piece takes place either at the local business, or at another agreed upon location (*sponsor is responsible for any additional statuary base and anti-theft methods) Special thanks to Tomah Trophy for the Sponsorship Plaques, and to Lyden Auto Body for preserving our students’ work, as it must withstand the elements for years to come.
