Member to Member Discounts: Increase visibility
within the Chamber Member Community
In light of the upcoming Christmas holiday, don’t forget to take advantage of offering outstanding cost-
saving opportunities through our “Member-to-Member Discount” feature. Designed to enhance your
membership value, this feature encourages members to buy from other business members to save money,
increase visibility, and promote new business for their companies. The more members who participate,
the better revenue opportunities and discounts for members.
Submit your Member-to-Member discount(s) through the Online Members Only Website. Login to your
account profile; access the “Member to Member Deals” button to “Add Member to Member Deal” and
post details about your discount!
Your member-to-member deals can be a great benefit to other business members, but only if they
know about them and take advantage of them. There are many ways you can incorporate your member
discounts effectively so that they will be used more frequently. Here are a few tips that will help you get
more business members to utilize your discounts:
Switch it up. Keep in mind, this benefit will be at its best when discounts
are updated periodically. There is no reason the discount needs to remain
the same throughout the year. We encourage you to switch it up to ensure
that other members will keep returning to your member-to-member
discount page to see what’s available to them.
Add it to your e-mail signature. Include the URL to your member-to-
member discount and/or participating businesses listing page, to your
e-mail signature. That will drive interest, and hopefully traffic, to your
page.
Offer unlockable discounts. Consider partnering with one of your fellow
business members to offer a special discount to members who perform
a certain action. For instance, you could create a special that can only be
unlocked through event attendance. These types of actions can create
excitement and incentivize members to pay attention to discounts among
business members.
Create excitement. By creating flash discounts (discounts that are offered
for a few hours or a day), you can cause people to pay attention to your
discounts and get them in the habit of checking your member-to-member
discount page. Plus, you may not be able to get a member business to
agree to offer a 25% discount all the time but you might be able to get
them to agree to offer a 25% discount for anyone who places an order
within the next hour. This is a fun way to get other member businesses
involved!
Exclusivity. The discounting business member may consider offering
discounts exclusive, or nearly so, to other members. If anyone can get it,
there won’t be value in the discount.
