August is National Back to
School Month
August is the national month of several celebrations...but
we sure think that all of the kids heading back to school
make it appropriate to celebrate National Back to School
Month with our teachers, school administrators, school
staff and the students!
There is a lot to do! Parents are out purchasing supplies
and new clothes for the kids, teachers are preparing
for in-services and getting their classrooms ready,
admininistration is making sure everything is in order and
the transportation department is reviewing routes and
schedules for hundreds of kids.
With all of this also comes other outstanding groups
throughout the community who are supporting our
educators and students. For example: Timberwood Bank
is going to award five lucky teachers with $200 to help
with their classroom supplies; Tomah Lions are teaming
up with Timberwood Bank and Express Employment to
help “Stuff the Bus” at the Tomah Wal-Mart; and RIA
Federal Credit

helping out! That is what makes this community so
incredible. We support each other!
On August 22, the Tomah Chamber and Visitors Center
is holding the Back to School BBQ , sponsored by 1st
Community Credit Union, CCF Bank, Culligan, RIA
Federal Credit Union and Timberwood Bank. This event
will take place at Fireman’s Park at 5:00pm. Everyone is
invited to meet new and existing staff members of both
public and parochial schools in the Tomah area. We
encourage everyone to enjoy a free picnic and celebrate
