My Town
Downtown Tomah is about to ROCK! Literally! We’ve
been feverishly signing contracts and booking bands to
bring more live music in to Tomah’s downtown.
Starting on July 4th, we are going to be closing down the
800 block of Superior Avenue, pulling in a stage and set-
ting up live music, lights, bounce houses, face painting, caricatures, and food trucks (there will also be
adult beverages available for purchase)! Other dates include July 11, 18 and August 1st, 8th and 15th.
Music will start at 6:00 PM each night and the bands will play until 9:00 PM. The bands will be coming
from areas such as Minneapolis, Nashville, and Chicago!
This event is free to the public, thanks to our many sponsors including Magnum.Media, RIA Federal
Credit Union, Timberwood Bank, American Family Insurance (Haldeman Agency), Partnership Bank,
Tomah Lions Club, Vino Anjo, 3rd Gen LLC, F & M Bank, and Gerke Excavating. There are still multiple
sponsorship opportunities available if your business or organization wants to get in on this event in
the inaugural year!
While this is a concert series, what we’re really trying to do is spur more growth and development in
Tomah’s downtown. We (as a city) have spent the last several years surveying the community, pre-
paring a Downtown Master Plan, creating a TID, creating donor TIDs to support the downtown TID,
planning for a financing mechanism to help with facade improvements and most recently, selecting
new street lamps that will be installed this year. Now we want to celebrate our downtown by creat-
ing more foot traffic and activity. We want to invite not only residents, but neighboring communities
and travelers in to our downtown as well. We have something worth celebrating here and we want to
share it!
In other news, many of our other events are also in full swing of planning. This includes Hometown
Heroes, Back to School BBQ, Business After 5 at the County Fair, Kite Fest, Chamber Golf Outing, Music
on Milwaukee, Trunk ‘R Treat and the Merry Mixer. There are also opportunities to host a Network
Before 9, a Pop-Up Happy Hour or Business After 5 event. There are so many ways to support Tomah’s
growth and build your business through the opportunities we offer. It is my hope that many of you
take advantage of the resources and opportunities that we provide so that you’re positioned to keep
growing with us!
