Over the next few months, the Acorns Precious Gifts campaign will highlight how we care for children and families right across our region. Whether that’s the gift of time; giving families those invaluable moments with their child at the end of life, or the gift of care; providing the expertise needed to care for a child with a host of complex clinical needs. You can read more about the campaign on page 4 and I would urge you to consider the ways you could help Acorns deliver these Precious Gifts this Christmas, whether it’s through fundraising with friends or colleagues, volunteering or joining a sponsored fundraising event. Read how the care we provide ripples out far beyond the child and family we support, in the Acorns Impact Report 2016. www.acorns.org.uk/impactreport On a slightly different note, this will be my final Together newsletter as my time as Chief Executive over the last decade reaches a conclusion and I hand over the reins to my successor, Toby Porter. I look back on the achievements of this organisation over the past ten years with a huge amount of pride and I would like to take this opportunity to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone for your support for Acorns. I am reassured that this wonderful organisation will continue with a fresh new outlook over the coming months and years and continue to provide the highest possible quality care to children and their families. David Strudley, Chief Executive
