Keele taught me so much about the sort of person I might be, and the contribution that I could make to the world.
We have an excellent Student Services department at Keele and, with their help, I have created the Philip Soar bursaries to provide students from a similar background to myself( my father was a window cleaner in Nottingham) with the opportunity to access the vital funding they need to support their higher education experience at Keele, just as I enjoyed.
By providing a scholarship to students from underrepresented groups, I hope to make an excellent education accessible to as many as possible. I am therefore currently supporting 21 students, having already supported 13 through to graduation.
It is wonderful to see that Keele continues to innovate and develop its provision for students, and I continue to watch the campus evolve with pride.
