Letter From
The Editor
Welcome to this issue of Today’s Roofer
Magazine. Our goal is to give you a
publication that is easy to read, and both
interesting and informative.
Our contractor profile for the month will introduce you
to Cliff Hurn, who has mastered the fine art of running a
successful enterprise, while still having some balance in
his life. I don’t know about you, but that’s a skill I wish
I’d learned earlier in life!
In talking with contractors, particularly those who
have owned their companies for a number of years,
the subject of how to sell a business frequently comes
up. This month I’ve included an article with some
points to think about if that is a possibility you’ve been
considering.
Video and video marketing are a hot topic these days as
a way to help your company get found online. I’ve asked
my friend Toby Younis to share some ideas on how we
in our industry can better use this valuable marketing
tool. Toby has more than 30 years experience as a
documentary film maker, and is currently working on
several short films, one of which he also wrote. We use
Toby here at Alchemy to produce our videos, and I have
used him with clients as well.
This month’s history article is on Yosemite National
Park. I visited the park one time many years ago and found it to be quite stunning. As Susan Jewell will share,
it also has a colorful history.
