GMercyU Welcomes New Vice Presidents
James Gallo, EdD
James Gallo, EdD assumed his
role as the Vice President for
Mission Integration on July 1,
2019. Dr. Gallo previously served
as the Director of the Center for
Church Management at Villanova
University and prior to that
served as the Director of Student
Activities at Neumann University.
He earned his BA in Theology from
Loyola University in Maryland,
his MS in Education from Neumann University, and his EdD
in Educational Leadership from Saint Joseph’s University.
His dissertation was: The Relationship Between Student
Involvement and Mission Perception at a Catholic University.
Dr. Gallo is succeeding Sister Catherine McMahon (more
commonly known as Sister Kati), who retired from her nearly
40-year tenure at GMercyU in June 2019.
James E. Trusdell, MBA
James E. Trusdell, MBA assumed
his role as the Vice President for
Finance and Administration on
March 1, 2020. Jim comes to
GMercyU from Georgian Court
University, where he held a similar
position. Prior to his time at
Georgian Court, Jim served as
VPFA and CFO at Holy Family
University where he led a financial
turnaround that resulted in four
years of increased revenues and improved cash management.
He also held multiple director- and executive-level roles in
finance at Temple University, and spent more than 15 years in
the business world as a controller and assistant vice president.
Jim succeeded Kevin O’Flaherty, who stepped down on February
29 after serving as VP for Finance and Administration at
GMercyU for the last 16 years.
Welcome New Directors
Fall 2019 brought many new faces to GMercyU’s campus
leaders, including:
Brandi Crawford
Director of Accessibility Services
Brandi started her role on November
18, 2019, and most recently worked at
Lincoln University. She has a strong
background in accessibility support
services, in both the K-12 setting and in
higher education.
Andrew Seaman
Director of Plant Services
Andrew began his role in October 2019
and came to Gwynedd Mercy University
from Drexel University where he was
the Facilities Manager for their clinical,
research, administrative and residence
hall space located in Center City. Prior
to Drexel, Andrew was the Energy and Facilities Manager in the
town of Medfield, MA.
Alex Sperrazza
Director of Undergraduate Admissions
Arriving in December 2019, Alex brings
more than 10 years of admissions
experience to GMercyU, including
five years as the Director of Graduate,
Freshman and International Admissions
at Wilkes University. He also has served
as an assistant wrestling coach and an adjunct instructor in
business.
Jeff Wallace
Director of Campus Ministry
Jeff began his role of Director of
Campus Ministry on August 1, 2019.
He comes to us from Catholic Relief
Services, where he was Relationship
Manager. He also previously served as
Campus Minister at Merrimack College.
