wrap - up Volleyball GMercyU’s Volleyball team finished the 2019 season with an 11-14 overall record. The team needed a win in their final game of the season to clinch a playoff spot but came up short, losing to Immaculata University. Sophomore Cait Saalfrank hit the 1,000 career dig milestone, finishing the season with 1,029. The Griffins posted a 3.58 team GPA, earning them the Atlantic East Conference academic award for fall teams with the highest GPAs. Women’s Soccer The women’s soccer team finished a disappointing season on a high note, honoring the team’s six seniors: Kailey Hopkins, Cassidy Rudd, Morgan McAndrews, Christina Surette, Tori Goebig, and Lauren Melino. Hopkins was honored with an Atlantic East Conference First-Team All-Conference selection after leading the league in goals against average. She started all 17 games in net for the Griffins, totaling 105 saves and allowing a league-low 20 goals over 1,600 minutes of action. The Griffins finished the 2018 season with a final record of 4-10-3. Men’s Soccer The Griffins closed out a tough season strong, earning their first win in the second- to-last game and drawing a scoreless tie against Rosemont College in the finale. The tie marked the last game for the team’s two seniors: Josh Reimel and Gersi Hoxha. Sophomore Kevin Bowers was named a second team Atlantic East All-Conference pick. The Griffins finished the season with a 1-15-2 record. TODAY 11
