A MESSAGE from the PRESIDENT
Summer Greetings from GMercyU !
You have probably heard me say that Commencement is one of my favorite days - if not my favorite - day of the year . While that is true , I look forward to the days and weeks that follow just as much , especially this year , as we continue to celebrate the progress of our campus transformation , from our recently re-opened Evans Road entrance to the extensive Loyola Hall enhancements , which will be ready by August for our new firstyear students to enjoy .
But what I look forward to the most every summer is the extra time to reflect on our growth and plan for our future .
As you ’ ll see in the pages of this magazine , this year was one for the record books – literally .
We celebrated Head Women ’ s Basketball Coach Keith Mondillo ’ s 500th career win , welcomed Governor Josh Shapiro to campus , and hosted a variety of conferences on campus . Our Integrated Studies program and its students continue to break barriers and show us what Mercy is all about . And we welcomed 714 Distinctive Mercy Graduates to the Alumni Association .
We ’ ll carry this momentum with us as we turn the page and make preparations for our 75th anniversary this Fall . The year will be full of exciting memories and I can ’ t wait to celebrate our history and our future with alumni , students , families , faculty , staff , and all of our friends and benefactors .
I hope you and your family enjoy a well-deserved break this summer .
Deanne H . D ’ Emilio , JD President
