BASEBALL The Griffins playoff push came to an end on the last day of the season , finishing their 2021 campaign with a 5-13 record . This was the first season under Head Coach Pete O ’ Hara , who came to GMercyU from Saint Joseph ’ s University . He was a three-time allconference standout for his alma mater , Delaware Valley University , and ranks among the leaders in their record books in several offensive categories . The team also said goodbye to seniors Bobby Heck , Brian Wildrick , Alex Ritter , George Stewart , Shaun Thomas and Will Brownlowe . With the exception of Brownlowe , who joined the team last season as a transfer , the other five players were members of the inaugural Atlantic East Champions in 2019 .
MEN ’ S BASKETBALL The Men ’ s Basketball Team stepped foot back on the court for the first time in over a calendar year and came away with a 2-0 record in their abbreviated season . The team honored its five seniors : Donaven Spencer , Jordan Perkins , Jaye ’ Lyn Peebles , and Justin Collins . The senior foursome enjoyed a conference championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament in 2019 and a memorable run last season to capture the 2020 ECAC Division III Championship for a four-year record of 65-22 .
WOMEN ’ S BASKETBALL The Griffins team celebrated its return to the court by erasing a 17-point deficit to start the fourth quarter in their 89-80 victory over Immaculata University on Senior Night . It was the first sporting event held on campus in just under a calendar year and was it ever memorable . Prior to the contest , the team honored its four seniors : Shannon Carroll , Sydney Thompson , Dylan Johnson , and Jill Kane . The team finished the abbreviated season with a 2-0 record .
MEN ’ S LACROSSE GMercyU ’ s Men ’ s Lacrosse team finished the season with a 2-6 overall record . They entered the Atlantic East Tournament as a fifth-seed and were matched up against fourth-seeded Maywood University where they were defeated 11-6 . The quarterfinal loss was the last game of the team ’ s six seniors : Ryan Boyd , Lucas Gray , Nick Heiler , Kohler Setley , Philip Weis , and Cross Zavada . They have appeared in the conference championship game on two occasions and have accumulated 31 wins during their time as Griffins .
