Presidential Scholar
Jessica Azzarano Jessica Azzarano graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with minors in chemistry , mathematics , and microbiology . Not only did she graduate with a 4.0 GPA , but also with extensive research experience . She conducted and presented research at Cabrini University as part of the SEA-PHAGES Program and conducted research with Dr . Stacey Lettini on the microbial species that comprise the microbiome of fish in the neighboring Trewellyn Creek .
Jessica is committed to service . An active member of the Student Association of Science ( SAS ), she was one of the driving forces behind the organization ’ s various fundraising efforts and actively involved in Science Day at Hobbit House . Other notable projects included the Philly CureHD Walk campus event , activities benefiting Mercy Focus on Haiti , and the butterfly garden being established on campus to support the Mercy for Monarchs initiative .
PICPA Award
Stephanie Webb Stephanie Webb graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Gwynedd Mercy University and aspires to obtain her Pennsylvania CPA licensure to become an auditor . Over the summer , she will be interning with KPMG with the expectation of joining the firm in Fall 2022 after the completion of her MBA . During her time at GMercyU , Stephanie has served as a peer tutor with the Academic Resource Center and a Griffin Ambassador with the Admissions Office . She was also inducted as a member of Sigma Beta Delta , the National Business Honors Society . In Fall 2019 , Stephanie participated in a case study competition through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education ( IACBE ) with a team of peers led by Professor Ronald Bruce . The group achieved second place as GMercyU ’ s first team to participate in the competition .
Outstanding Business Graduate Award
Jenna Bonner Jenna Bonner is from Lansdale , Pa . and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Gwynedd Mercy University . She is grateful for the connections she ’ s developed here at GMercyU , especially with her marketing professors . Throughout her time at GMercyU , Jenna also has worked full-time at Brown & Brown Insurance . After graduation she hopes to transition into a marketing and communications position within the company . In her spare time , Jenna enjoys running and is looking forward to completing her first marathon this fall .
Distinguished Student Teaching Award
Alexis Howard Alexis Howard was an Early Elementary and Special Education student , who graduated Summa Cum Laude from Gwynedd Mercy University . At GMercyU , Alexis was involved in leadership through the Griffin Ambassador Program . As an Education student , Alexis was placed at several schools throughout Montgomery County , Pa . as part of GMercyU ’ s Teacher Apprentice Program ( TAP ). For her student teaching placement , Alexis was placed at Willow Hill Elementary School in a fifth grade classroom , where she subsequently landed a full-time job . Currently , Alexis is a third grade teacher at Willow Hill in Willow Grove , Pa . where she has a special interest in Social Emotional Learning and how that impacts her students ’ education .
Theresa Healy-Miller Award ( Main Campus ) Colbi Carr Colbi Carr graduated from Gwynedd Mercy University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and a 3.9 GPA . She also was on the Dean ’ s List all four of her years here at GMercyU . Colbi is a caring , responsible , mature student filled with commitment and passion . Not only does Colbi excel in her studies , but also in the service she gives to the University . Colbi has been committed to tutoring , and many of her tutoring students attribute their success to Colbi . Through her words and actions , Colbi models GMercyU ’ s Core Values every day and will undoubtedly make a difference in her patients ’ lives as a Distinctive Mercy Graduate .
Theresa Healy-Miller Award ( Bensalem ) Sharyce Hayes-Jones Sharyce Jones- Hayes graduated from Gwynedd Mercy University ’ s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program . She demonstrates compassionate nursing care and has shown consistent clinical excellence . The nursing profession needs people who have an innate sense of compassion and she certainly meets that expectation . Not only does Sharyce have the potential to be successful , but she truly cares about her patients and peers as well . She exemplifies all that it means to be a Distinctive Mercy Graduate and will continue to deliver excellent care throughout her nursing career .

Sadie Brumfield Sadie Brumfield graduated from Gwynedd Mercy University ’ s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program . During her time in the program , Sadie demonstrated true leadership abilities and is an incredibly caring and empathetic professional . She constantly impressed her instructors and patients with her confidence and kindness in the clinical setting . Sadie advocates for all her patients and demonstrates good clinical judgment . She works well with fellow classmates , faculty , and staff nurses while showing respect to everyone she encounters . At the start of the program , she was excited about becoming a nurse , and now has proven herself as a true patient advocate , especially for those in need .
