#GMercyUGrad19 Saturday, May 11, 2019 was a big day for both Gwynedd Mercy University and the Class of 2019. GMercyU’s Class of 2019 was the University’s largest graduating class with more than 880 graduates receiving their degrees in the 2018-2019 academic year. And for the first time in the University’s history, both the undergraduate and graduate Commencement Ceremonies were held off-campus at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks. The graduates were honored in the company of family, friends, faculty, and staff, as they reflected on their achievements and looked forward to their future successes. There were many smiles, tears, and cheers as the Class of 2019 said farewell to Gwynedd Mercy University and hello to their bright futures as Distinctive Mercy Graduates. VICE PRESIDENT EMERITA FOR MISSION AND MINISTRY Catherine McMahon, RSM, MS, '71, GMercyU’s Vice President for Mission and Ministry, was honored as Vice President Emerita of Mission and Ministry. After many years of service at GMercyU, Sister Kati retired this summer. 2 TODAY PROFESSORS EMERITI Ellen Murray, RSM, PhD, and Barbara Jones, PhD, RN '70, '72 (not pictured) were each honored as Professor Emeritus. Sister Ellen was selected as this year's Mace Bearer and led the Academic Procession at both Commencement ceremonies.
