FIELD HOCKEY Perseverance laid the groundwork for GMercyU ’ s final flourish as the Griffins enjoyed a 5-5 October that included significant wins over Arcadia University , Immaculata University , Marywood University , and Neumann University . In the playoffs , the Griffins enjoyed an Atlantic East Conference ( AEC ) victory over the Neumann Knights , but lost in the semifinals to the Cabrini Cavaliers . The Griffins ended their season with a 6-14 record and a 3-2 AEC standing .
Seniors Kaci Murray and Lauren Jani earned All-AEC First and Second Team recognition for the season . Murray also earned a spot on the 2021 National Field Hockey Coaches Association ( NFHCA ) All-Region IV Second Team . Jani led the team offensively and earned herself a spot on the AEC Field Hockey Weekly Honor Roll . The Griffins also celebrated seniors Lauren Jani , Caitlyn Thornton , Jordan Truntich , Rachel Rossell , Meleah Hoats , Kaci Murray , and Dakota Hurwitz with a win against Immaculata University .

VOLLEYBALL The Griffins fought their way to become the fifth seed in the AEC Tournament and lost to the Marywood Pacers in the opening round . They finished the season with a 9-20 overall record and a 2-4 AEC standing . Sophomore middle Ashley Brown earned Rookie of the Year and was selected for All-AEC First Team . Aybria Purnell , sophomore outside hitter , earned All- AEC Second Team and was named AEC Player of the Week . The Griffins celebrated a win against the Mighty Macs for Senior Day as they recognized seniors Lauren Yancer , Bridget McTamney , and Ashley Morris .
WOMEN ’ S CROSS COUNTRY Respectively finishing the 2021 AEC Women ’ s Cross Country Championship in 10 th , 11 th , and 14 th place , junior Alecia Bennett , senior Siobhan McShea , and junior Keely Greene garnered All-AEC Second Team honors . The Griffins finished in third place behind Marywood University and Immaculata University . The trio led the team by taking the lead in at least one race this fall . The team graduated thier only senior , Siobhan McShea this season .
