Dear Griffins ,
To say 2020 has been difficult would be an understatement . This year has brought so many twists and turns to life . Often it seems that just when we think we may have our footing , there is a new and perhaps unusual development unfolding before our eyes .
One thing of which I am certain , during these uncertain times , I wouldn ’ t want to be anywhere else than with our GMercyU family . We have Griffin Heroes everywhere and they are making a difference , not only in our immediate communities , but also in the world . We have graduates that bring skill , dedication , kindness , compassion , strength and love into their work , and they give freely .
This year , we applaud our newest graduates . They took the last few months of their studies in stride as the world experienced a pandemic and shut down . The Class of 2020 overcame when it seemed impossible and they did so with strength and grace . We wish them well as they begin , continue or start anew with their careers . We know there are many good things to come and we wish them the best and welcome them into the Alumni Association .
With an Alumni Association of more than 23,500 graduates , we are Griffin Nation . Please remember that GMercyU is here for you as alumni , even in these uncertain times . While we are not offering campus tours or in-person events , we are hosting online events through our
Griffins @ Home virtual series . Join us to meet other Griffins and to take time to be with friends with a common bond . We have an array of topics and even offer prerecorded sessions to be viewed at your convenience . We are always accepting new ideas so please feel free to contact the Office of Alumni Relations with your suggestions .
As we prepare to close out 2020 , we thank our Griffin Heroes for what they do in our communities and for our University . Many have reached out to help support the University through our new
Griffin Heroes Fund so that the university community may continue to provide our students with a stellar education , additional support and to help them soar . We thank YOU .
