Environment Policy 2020
From our suppliers, to the children who end up with our
toys in their hands, everyone is waking up to the impact
we all have on the planet.
As part of this, we work hard to ensure everything we produce can be done
responsibly, and where possible, using sustainable, recycled or renewable sources.
TOBAR is excited to introduce our environmental policy as part of our
commitment to a greener, more eco-friendly future within the toy and gift
industry. In the short term, we aim to achieve the following:
• Introduce recycling labelling information
on all TOBAR brand products.
• Reduce the amount of non-recyclable single use packaging.
• Encourage environmental best practices with our suppliers.
We have joined the On-Pack Recycling Label (OPRL) scheme and will begin
to introduce clear and simple recycling information on product packaging.
This allows us to support local authorities, as well as the consumer,
to increase recycling rates for recyclable materials. The scheme is identified
as international best practice by the UN Environment Programme, and has
also been cited in Defra’s 25 Year Environment Plan as a key component
in tackling waste.
TOBAR has always explored new and innovative recyclable packaging for our
products, and it continues to be an important focus for us. This involves reducing
non-recyclable materials, such as acetate boxes and laminated cardboard, and
replacing them with recyclable, sustainable alternatives.
This catalogue you are reading right now is made from sustainably sourced
materials (and if it was sent to you in the post, the bag is compostable too!)
Another large commitment will see us working with our suppliers and supply
chains to reduce waste and excessive energy usage. We will actively promote
and monitor the switch to renewable energy and more efficient manufacturing
solutions across the board.
If you have any queries about our environment policy, please feel free to email
us on [email protected], and we will be more than happy to answer your
questions.
