KITCHENS
door seal and think about having a gas hob serviced so that the jets can be cleaned properly to enhance performance.
Remember your extractor fan. Replace charcoal or fibre filters and pop your metal filters in the dishwasher. Finally, descale your coffee machines and kettles, where applicable.
Don’ t overlook the sink
Change your tap filters and take the time to assess what you are storing under your sink. Abrasive chemicals and harsh cleaners often end up under it, but these can cause deterioration of the underside of the sink as well as nearby runners and hinges. Inspect the plumbing to ensure there are no leaks.
Finishing touches
Clean your lights – we often forget to look at the ceiling. Dirt layers on light bulbs and fittings reduce illumination. Inspect plugs, electrical cords, and batteries for visible damage.
Give soft furnishings, artwork, objets d ' art, and cookbooks a good clean. Don’ t overlook your chopping boards.
Consider a new lick of paint or a new colour for an accent wall. Adding plants or something as simple as new dish towels can also renew the space. A kitchen spring clean and facelift should make you feel better about the space, because your kitchen should be one of the happiest rooms in your home.
Finally, do a health check. Check all areas for signs of moisture, condensation, or mould, as these can all have a negative impact on your cabinetry and overall health. Make sure your fire extinguisher remains in date and that your first aid kit is fully stocked.
The result should be a cleaner, safer, and better-organised kitchen, and a home that feels refreshed for spring.
