Designed to be dismantled and relocated to a different trading site later, the new home of a popular Cape Town fresh produce market marks a significant advance in the use of mass timber construction. It is built on a modular basis, according to project architect Sean Mahoney of Studio MAS in Cape Town and was commissioned in early December 2025. By then, its occupant, the Oranjezicht City Farm Market( OZCFM) had moved in, configured the space for a number of traders, opening its doors to the public on 6 December.
