As a registered Non-Profit Organisation, the MAD Leadership Foundation empowers South African youth through a comprehensive scholarship programme, nurturing personal growth and cultivating the leaders of tomorrow.
Kim Williams Interior Design( KWD) has partnered with the Make a Difference( MAD, madleadership. org) Leadership Foundation to redesign their office space, located at Rosenpark in Tyger Valley, Cape Town.

Founded in 2003 by 1995 Rugby World Cup-winning captain Francois Pienaar, MAD provides educational opportunities and holistic support to academically talented learners from marginalised communities.
Kim Williams, Founder and Principal Designer at KWD, a regular design contributor on To Build, explains that their brief was to redesign and revitalise the foundation’ s office space in Cape Town.
The new workspace, which was gifted by a valued sponsor, will, during the course of 2026, be completely transformed by Kim Williams and her network of industry partners. The design concept focuses on storytelling and functionality, creating an environment that reflects MAD’ s legacy of resilience and opportunity.
“ Design has the power to shape how we feel, think, and collaborate,” says Kim Williams.“ This project is about creating a space that reflects MAD’ s heart. We want every learner, donor, and team member who walks through the doors to feel inspired by the difference being made here every day.”
The project was officially launched at the KWD Studio in March 2026.
Pienaar adds that its physical workspace will shortly embody the same sense of purpose, excellence, and hope that defines its mission. The reimagined office will be unveiled later this year.
