We worked in this way on all parts of the robot until our final competition day. When our robot competed, it didn’t complete all the tasks that we knew it could do. This was okay. The purpose of our Introduction to Design class was not to know everything and be experienced engineers; rather, the purpose of our class and our assignment was to push us past our previous capabilities. We learned to be engineers, not expert robot producers. Engineers work hard, and they work together. We choose engineering. Will you? 04 opportunities for creativity People have the misconception that engineers are just “math” people; this isn’t true. Every problem faced has multiple solutions and designing those solutions and finding which one is the best takes much creativity.
