Many of you have heard about or even taken the NME, Scribo, or the NLE but slightly less known are some more. There are four online exams that examine other topics related to the Classics which are scored by grade level: 8 and under, 9-10, and 11-12; and they can possibly get you a scholarship to Nationals. They are the NRCE, NCEE, NHCE, and NLVE.

National Roman Civilization Exam

The NRCE, or National Roman Civilization Exam is 50 multiple-choice questions long and focuses on Roman History and Society. It is administered in the Fall and awards are delivered later in the year. More information can be found here: NRCE

National Classical Etymology Exam

It is also administered in the Fall and it contains 50 multiple choice questions, 75% Latin and 25% Greek approximately, in a 45 minute time limit. The grade divisions in this exam also are divided into groups for whether one has taken Latin or Greek or not. Extra details can be found here: NCEE
