TJCL Torch

Spring Edition

Salvete, TJCLers!

The Rossview High School JCL has had a wonderful year! We have done a myriad of activities, ranging from Certamen, wacky presentations, playing Oracle at a Halloween event, decorating shields, and making cards for teacher appreciation.

In the fall, Clarksville JCLs put on the first ever Montgomery County Certamen Day, with RJCL leaders writing and moderating the incredibly fun (and funny) rounds. Our Certamen teams, under the guidance of NJCL Certamen players (President and Parli, respectively) Jia Do and Isabella Ochoa placed top three at Midstate Convention, where our Novice team placed first, our Intermediate team placed third, and our Advanced team placed second! As I am writing this, our JCLers are preparing for State convention: eagerly studying their emperors; learning advanced verb charts; creating beautiful art of all kinds; Historian Adde Underwood working tirelessly on our scrapbook; 2VP Jena Williams writing cheers; and 1VP Selia Oliver prepping for service participation.

Rossview is so excited to see all of the wonderful TJCL delegations!

Valete!

Salvete!

BSHG JCL has gotten off on the right foot this spring! We have continued performing well, having fun, and have kept up our wonderful program with tryouts for the Mythology Spelling Bee, workshops for Dramatic Interpretation, student elections, and plenty of Certamen as we plan to field competitive teams on all levels. We expect to soon work on spirit with our newly elected spirit coordinator and do some Certamen cram sessions as State convention fast approaches.

See you at State!
