REPURPOSING AND SUSTAINABILITY
Many of my clients are looking for indestructible fabrics . There are currently many options , such as wonderful likenesses to velvet , linen and cotton , which are outdoor-rated performance , stain-resistant materials . Many of these fabrics are composed of recycled plastic , which follows the whole trend of repurposing / sustainability !
One principle I always try to use when designing a space is this : try to stay away from using trendy decor in areas that are hard to swap out when you tire of it or looks dated . Keep your base pieces more classic and mix the trendier things in areas such as accessories , lamps , pillows . I also like to select one statement piece in each room . Using that one eye catcher allows the rest of the room to be more timeless .

COZY & CLEAN
When designing a closet , don ’ t forget about the floor . You may be the only one who sees it , but the flooring matters because you ’ ll be standing on it barefoot every day . Carpeting offers the best warmth underfoot but can be difficult to clean in tighter spaces . Consider wood flooring or vinyl , and use throw rugs to add some color and personality !

SMART HOME Use timers or smart controls to automatically turn on your outdoor lights at dusk and off at a set time . This saves energy and ensures a well-lit outdoor space during the evening . For safety , install lights along pathways , stairs , and potential hazards to prevent accidents .
Create depth and warmth by layering different sources of lighting in each room . Use a combination of overhead lights , floor and table lamps . This will add a cozy and comforting feel to your living spaces .
