The Preserve
From painting classes to spa massages to day outings , residents of The Preserve Senior Living at Meridian will discover an array of amenities and programs aimed at keeping them socially active and part of a thriving community .
Meridian ’ s newest senior living community , The Preserve , is nestled on 22 acres located behind the Meridian Little Theater on Highway 39 North , not far from the city ’ s shopping and entertainment districts .
Quiet and tranquil , the cottages and buildings are situated among roaming hills , lush trees and beautiful shrubbery and flowers .
“ We consider ourselves resort-style living ,” said Randy Ledbetter , executive director of The Preserve . “ For the folks who live here , it is pretty carefree and upscale . If you look at our community compared to others , it is kind of open and beachy and resort-style .”
The community is designed to offer living accommodations for senior adults , mostly 65 and older , who are at different stages in life from independent living to assisted living to needing memory care services .
Owned by a local group of investors , The Preserve is being managed by Frontier Senior Living Management , which is one of the nation ’ s largest operators of senior living housing with more than 130 communities in 19 states .
“ What is unique about The Preserve is that you have a blend of local control and local ownership and the expertise of an entity that has been doing it a while ,” Ledbetter said . “ Frontier Management is a well-established industry leader as far as senior living goes .”
Planning and construction of The Preserve has been ongoing for a couple of years . The COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing supply chain issues caused delays with the project , Ledbetter noted .
The Preserve finally celebrated its grand opening in late September with a late afternoon gathering that featured entrées , delicious desserts , musicians and Tango & Waltz dancers .
Opening in phases , several cottage residents moved into their new homes in September . The Preserve hopes to have its assisted living and memory care apartments available this month .
“ We have had a few independent residents move into cottages , and we hope to start serving our assisted living and memory care by mid-October ,” Ledbetter
