The 19th Annual Soulé Live Steam Festival in Meridian gives visitors the opportunity to see how things were made and how hard people worked back in the early 20th century . These workers ’ efforts in the past have helped to make our standard of living possible today . Hosted at Soulé Steam Feed Works , America ’ s last intact steam engine factory .
The Historic Soulé Steam Feed Works museum features an impressive permanent collection of portable and stationary steam engines , which will operate using “ live steam .” The belt-driven machine shop will be in operation and other industrial craftsmen will be demonstrating their trades .
