The power of the color pink

Pink … Soft pink … The color once symbolizing softness and frail femininity now has become the symbol of the fiercest warriors on the planet . Now representing these women ( and also men ) and the loving people who rally behind them . The fragility and helplessness of cancer victimhood .
The “ olden day approach “ has been overtaken with a new approach : a bold determination to fight it and to just live better , healthier , and to rally what is the most healing of all — human kinship . We don ’ t view cancer as a definite death sentence as it is most surredly not , even … Even in those cases that are terminal . It ’ s always a chance to learn about our strengths . It ’ s a chance to discover ourselves and how we can help ourselves with a lot that IS in our control with healthier diets , optimizing vitamin D , exercise , mindfulness , and de-stressing and cherishing a life that has been begging us to slow down .
It ’ s about looking at our habits and seeing that God and nature have designed a lot of natural medicines in the form of healthy high antioxidant plants and that we should eat way more of them . We learn that yoga and stretching and walks are miracle treatments . Reaching out to others and expressing
grace and appreciation and forgiveness are all healing .
It ’ s learning that a body isn ’ t what defines you . It isn ’ t what makes you attractive or sexy but it ’ s your brain — your

thoughts , your soul , and attitude toward others that actually does define you . It ’ s realizing that healing isn ’ t just about healing from surgical scars or ports or chemo , it ’ s healing your heart as well .
It ’ s about being the nicest to the person you have always been the hardest and most demanding of — yourself . It ’ s about loving those harder who have always loved you , through the hardest times . It ’ s about you and discovering what you really are made of — strength .
It represents digging down deep , letting people help you , helping others when you are weak yourself , and knowing that your absolute strength and pure grit is so very empowering to others . It ’ s your strength that changes us and challenges us to be better . Thank you for reminding us often . So …. When I see pink … this is what pink means to me .
Anything , anything but soft .

she is healthy and cancer free . Three years ago , she suffered a second health scare when she lost her eyesight . After numerous surgeries , she said she now has partial vision .
Her vision loss could be related to the chemotherapy and radiation , but there is no evidence that the two occurrences are linked because it has not happened to a lot of patients , Malone noted . Surviving breast cancer has given her a new perspective on life .
“ You just have to learn to live each day the way God gives it to you and you have to be thankful and grateful ,” she said . “ You don ’ t worry about the little things anymore .”
