Manual Cinema
Lula Del Ray
Thursday, March 26, 7:30 p.m.
MSU Riley Center
You have never experienced anything like this.
Using vintage overhead projectors, multiple screens,
shadow puppets, live video cameras, multichannel
sound, live actors, and live musicians, the Chicago-
based performance collective Manual Cinema creates
a haunting, mesmerizing performance – in full view of
the audience. It’s like being in the middle of a movie
being created on the fly, in real time. Lula Del Ray
tells the story of a lonely girl who becomes obsessed
with a soulful country music duo she hears on the
radio. She runs away from home and into a world of
deception and danger. Performed with almost no dia-
logue, it’s achingly expressive, visually astonishing,
and deeply touching.
Tickets are $30-$100 and may be purchased at the
MSU Riley Center Box Office, online at www.msuri-
leycenter.com or by calling the box office at 601-696-
2200.
